Card Not Present Unveils 2022 CNP Award Winners

This week, Card Not Present unveiled the winners of its 10^th Annual CNP Awards. This year, the virtual celebration saw 25 high-performing companies take home top honors in 14 categories. According to D.J. Murphy, editor-in-chief of CNP, that many winners—the most individual organizations ever recognized in a single awards season by CNP—is indicative of the rising significance of fraud prevention and payments proficiency in the current e-commerce environment.

“The growing complexity and sophistication of fraud attacks targeting online sellers keeps rising, demanding a more sophisticated response leveraging automation and advanced technology,” said Murphy. “Fraud teams are again being asked to do more with less and the expanding universe of solutions available to merchants is an important resource. We’re honored to be able to identify and recognize some of the best.”

The most obvious effects of the stay-at-home restrictions associated with the Covid-19 pandemic have waned, but 2021 and the first half of 2022 remained incredibly challenging for fraud teams in e-commerce. While the explosive growth in transactions that occurred in the first year of the pandemic moderated by the beginning of 2022, fraud attacks had not.

Reports from all corners of the e-commerce space indicated that the post-holiday lull—at least from a fraud perspective—never happened. Fraud continued at a record pace and merchants are applying all resources available to them to help.

And the technology providers that serve the CNP space have stepped up as one of those resources. As it has for the last decade, CNP is honoring the best of those companies with the CNP Awards.

CNP honored seven providers for the first time in 2022 and four companies won in multiple categories this year.
