A unique feature of the CNP Awards is the dual format—two awards are bestowed in each category reflecting the evaluation of dispassionate judges in one case and experienced users in the other. At this year’s honors there was unprecedented agreement between the two. For the first time in the event’s seven-year history, recipients swept both awards in six categories.
A panel of five independent judges and an online vote of merchant customers chose the same entrant as Best PCI Compliance Provider (PCIPal), Best PSP (Century Business Solutions), Best Processor (Elavon), Best Chargeback Management Solution (Chargebacks911), Best Alternative Payment Solution (PPRO) and Best Antifraud Solution (Kount). Elavon also captured the Judges Choice Award in the Best E-Commerce Platform/Gateway, making it this year’s only triple award winner. WEX Health took home Merchant of the Year honors.
The CNP Awards were presented tonight at a special celebration that took place during CNP Expo being held for the first time in San Francisco. Card Not Present Editor-in-Chief D.J. Murphy, who handed out the awards to the honorees with Event and Community Director John Bomier, congratulated several Bay Area winners for accepting awards on home turf.
“The Bay Area is synonymous with technological innovation," said Murphy. "Merchants are working hand-in-hand with the fintech community here and elsewhere, leveraging their software and applying their experience to meet the evolving threats we see every day. For the companies in this ecosystem, The CNP Awards have become the standard by which the fruits of those partnerships are recognized and judged now and in the future."
